Are We Serious About Our Own Health and Well-Being?

We live in a day and age where our health faces more challenges than before. Yes, it is true that lengthy ago human beings did not have exactly the same advanced technologies in medications. However, just because we're able to cure more diseases, it does not imply that we face fewer challenges. As technology advances, it brings along with it many dangers such as heavy metals, pesticides, and other forms of toxicities. The technologies which were invented are needless to say extremely awesome in many ways, such as helping us to take pleasure from longer and healthier lives. Only if these technologies would stay on the good side of the fence.

Unfortunately, a lot of the technologies which were invented for our convenience today are also an indirect reason behind many serious chronic diseases. Because of this in order to help prevent these chronic diseases, we would have to give up adequate these conveniences. The question is, how many of us are willing to do so? We realize that smoking is very harmful to us. We also know that eating many of the junk foods can lead to heart disease. Even though we have the choice of buying organic foods, we prefer to stay away from it simply because it is too expensive. Therefore helps a number of these manufacturers to keep to prosper as long as they keep their products cheaper than their organic competitors.

Therefore the question is, do we really take ourselves seriously whenever we talk about attempting to be healthy, wanting to look young, and wanting to live longer? Yes, it is true that many of us will go out of our way to look younger by purchasing special creams and taking plenty of vitamin supplements. We shall go to the shops and buy orange juice and many other types of drinks that are supposedly filled with vitamins and minerals, yet we will feast on deep-fried foods. A proven way where we make ourselves feel much better is by paraphrasing statements such as “hey, we will die anyways, so we might aswell enjoy ourselves”, or, “my best friend's uncle smoked two packs of cigarettes each day and was still in a position to live to be a hundred”. We say all this until 1 day we find ourselves in a significant situation, and then all those paraphrases mean nothing.

In order to live a wholesome life, it means changing our overall lifestyle. Once that change has been put into action, it means never going back to doing things we used to previously. How many of us are prepared to make such a sacrifice? On the other hand, would you sacrifice your wellbeing and well-being? Until we are able to truly understand what the right priorities are, only then are we able to make that important change for ourselves and for our families. To carry out that, we would need to take ourselves seriously.
