Thailand’s cabinet has approved adjusting the principle for issuing Long-Term Resident visa (“LTR VISA”) to attract more investors in the target industries. The purpose of this is to increase more target industries which include transportation and petrochemical, by encouraging investors to set up multinational corporations in Thailand, and to attract more highly skilled professionals to work in Thailand.

泰國內閣已核准調整長期居留簽證(“LTR VISA”)的核發原則，以吸引目標行業投資者的人數，並增加更多的目標投資行業，包括運輸和石化，鼓勵投資者在泰國成立跨國公司，吸引更多高技能人才到泰國工作。

After the approval of the adjustment principle to issue LTR VISA, it would stimulate the economy and investing strategies, to increase new target investing industries, raises the professional skill of target industry professionals, and to attract foreigners who have potential to hold LTR VISA in Thailand. The increased target investing industries includes:

Foreigners who apply for a LTR VISA should have any of nine professional skills, such as research and development in target industries or target techniques (such as biotechnology and/or nanotechnology). In addition, these foreigners should be dedicated to career development or human resources in the high-tech field, solving artificial intelligence, automation, robotics applications, and the supply problem of high-tech knowledge talents.

The Thai cabinet has assigned the Board of Investment to attract more high-potential expatriates to invest and work in Thailand, and has appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Mr. Supattanapong Punmeechaow, as its chairman to reduce relevant time costs and procedures to attract highly skilled professionals more effectively to Thailand.
