Kevin Durant hilariously patted himself on back for 'great defense' on Steph Curry in ASG

LOS ANGELES — The final possession of the 2018 NBA All-Star Game featured Kevin Durant helping LeBron James double team his Warriors teammate Steph Curry. The defense was so tight that Curry couldn’t even attempt what would have been the game-tying three.

After Team LeBron beat Team Stephen 148-145, Durant was asked about guarding Curry, and if he thought that the photo of the moment would make its rounds with their team back in the Bay Area. KD’s initial response was hilarious.

“Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, for sure,” Durant said in his press conference. “That was great defense by myself.”

But when asked about bragging rights, he said there’ll be no trash talk. Durant continued:

“I don’t know if we’ll do that. The game was so good, it was so competitive, the best one I’ve been part of. I was grateful that I got this opportunity. We all played a great game, so there’s no trash talking.”

When Curry stepped up to the podium, he described Durant and James as two “giants” who pushed him to the sideline and prevented him from scoring. He said that it was a tough way to finish the loss, but he added that it was a good show for the fans.

This would be a funny photo to have up at the Warriors practice facility, though. Well, at least until the next All-Star Game.
