Consumer confidence in Brazil rose to 43.8 in the fourth quarter of 2020, slightly up from 42.8 in the third quarter but well below 47.3 in the fourth quarter of 2019. Consumers were more optimistic regarding their financial situation (47.9 from 45.3 in Q3) and personal income (47.5 from 44.5), likely influenced by the 13th salary received during that period. Also, the willingness to make major purchases increased (55.8 vs 54.4). However, debt situation is expected to deteriorate (49.8 vs 50.7).
