re7.exe has stopped working - on start (FIX)
My game crashes with "re7.exe hast stopped working" at the start. I finally found a fix.

Maybe you have a codec pack installed (K-Lite for example). Start the tool "CodecTweakTool" -> the Button "Media Foundation" at the end -> unmark all formats on the right panel (64 bit) but "Disable for these formats" must be checked.

Now the game should work.

This whole time it was crashing becuase my game couldn't play the intro video haha. Thanks for the fix!

Did this and didnt work. I get through the company logos and I think it would be the last one, it crashes with that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ re7.exe

This is other fix in case:

Are you using windows 10 N? if so, THEN download the Media Feature Pack according to your windows 10 version:

I did a extrem fix... reformated my PC...I dont get that re7.exe error anymore but now it loads to the start menu.... but its stuck. Keybord and mouse doesnt do anything, pluged in my xbox one controller. That didnt do anything... ffs...

If all else fails just uninstall the codec pack. Yeah it is an inconvenient fix but as long as you have the install file it is better then duel booting your computer.
