Chuck Norris has confirmed that he will not be appearing in The Expendables 3.

The action hero told Access Hollywood that his role in Expendables 2 will be his only contribution to the ensemble series.

"Nope. Just number two. This is it for me," he said when asked whether he will be reprising his part. "This is very special. Just to be able to do the film with guys I've known for many, many years.

"To get a chance to get in and fight with them, it was a lot of fun. Plus getting a chance to meet Terry Crews, who I hadn't met before. And Jason Statham, whom I hadn't met before. It was fun just to do that."

Norris's Expendables 2 co-star Crews previously expressed his delight at working with the veteran star on the project, admitting that he has long been inspired by him.

Nicolas Cage, Harrison Ford, Clint Eastwood and Sean Connery are among the other stars to have been linked with Expendables 3.
