Machado will get another day while dealing with the hip injury he suffered during Wednesday’s game against the Angels. He has been able to play as a pinch-hitter, however, and he has a chance to be available off the bench for the series finale as well. Donovan Solano is starting at third and hitting fifth in Machado’s absence.

Seager is going to miss a third straight game while dealing with a left hamstring injury. The 30-year-old is considered day-to-day, and there’s a good chance he returns to the lineup early next week. Josh Smith gets another start at shortstop in Seager’s absence and will hit second as Texas tries to avoid a three-game sweep.

Alvarez is seeing the ball exceptionally well of late, slashing .367/.430/.633 with six homers and 15 RBI over his last 28 games to raise his batting average from .239 to .296 during that period. Amador has joined Colorado’s taxi squad, and it’s still possible he could be officially recalled in the coming days. However, for the moment, it doesn’t sound like his debut is imminent. Soto will miss his second straight contest on Saturday evening after being held out of Friday’s series opener against Los Angeles due to left forearm inflammation. The positive news here for fantasy managers is that it sounds like the 25-year-old fantasy superstar isn’t facing an extended absence after additional testing didn’t reveal any ligament damage or other structural issues. However, it’s a tough development since this is shaping up to be one of the most exciting regular-season series of the year. He’s presumably day-to-day for now.

The 22-year-old right-hander, who was selected 22nd overall in last July’s MLB Draft out of the University of Florida, boasts an electrifying arsenal headlined by a double-plus splitter that generated an absurd 16 swinging strikes last Sunday in his Triple-A debut. He’s worthy of a speculative roster spot in all fantasy formats, even if this winds up being a one-start cameo, given his immense strikeout upside. The promotion enables the Braves to give ace Max Fried a couple extra days of rest before taking the ball for Tuesday’s series opener against the Orioles.

The encouraging news here for fantasy managers is that Seager hasn’t landed on the injured list yet after suffering a mild left hamstring injury earlier this week. The 30-year-old fantasy stalwart will miss his second straight contest on Saturday afternoon and remains day-to-day for now. There should be some clarity on his status at some point later this weekend if he’s unable to get back in the lineup.

It became apparent several weeks ago that Senga, who has been on the shelf since spring training due to a right shoulder issue, simply wasn’t making enough progress to return to New York prior to the All-Star break.
